Nutcracker Guest Artist!

We are honored to announce that one of our guest choreographers for “The Endless Forest Nutcracker” is Tyrone Brooks. Mr. Brooks will also offer master classes for community dancers while he is in St. Louis.

Mr. Brooks is a native of Virginia. He was a principal dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem, where he performed the works of such artistic luminaries as George Balanchine, Agnes DeMille, Geoffrey Holder, Garth Fagan, Jerome Robbins, Alonzo King, and Arthur Mitchell.

His international performances include Austria, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Japan, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Venezuela, South Africa, and Russia.

In 1984, he was nominated for the Dancer’s Choice Award in London, England, for his role as Alan Strang in “Equus: The Ballet.” His television credits include performances in NBC’s presentation of Dance Theatre of Harlem and the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics. He appeared in several PBS series, including the 1993 Kennedy Center Honors and “Great Performances: Dance In America.” He has appeared on 60 Minutes with Ed Bradley.

Mr. Brooks’ teaching credits are extensive, and he has conducted many master classes and outreach programs on the East Coast, including the Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts.

Most recently he has served as the Executive Director of the Virginia School of The Arts.

We are blessed to have someone of his professional stature involved in our endeavors!
