Dance Project Saint Louis

Spring Updates!

Art Museum Performance–Our performing ensemble will do a show about French Impressionism at the St. Louis Art Museum on June 8th as part of the museum’s Family Sundays Series and their French Impressionism exhibition. Our story is about children being locked by mistake in a museum where the paintings come to life during the night! We are doing the performance with Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company, Jennifer Medina’s professional company. The exhibition was mentioned in the New York Times over the weekend, so we are honored to have the opportunity to participate. Please consider coming to this wonderful free event!

UMSL Performance–Many Dance Project students will be performing in the UMSL Dance Department show on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It is inexpensive ($10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children) and will be the first performance Jen has done with the new department. It’s important for the community to support this endeavor as UMSL will be an affordable alternative for a fine dance education for local dancers.

Exciting news!–Jen has been accepted into the Corps De Ballet International, a professional organization dedicated to the development, exploration, and advancement of ballet in higher education. She will attend their annual Teacher Conference in Pittsburgh this June, and has been accepted to present a piece at the conference. It will be choreographed by her and performed by Christine O’Neal, a member of the Dance faculty at Washington University.

Kids’ Parties!–We are now doing parties at Dance Project. They are elaborate, special parties for children. We’ll be sending home information about them soon. We will be offering discounts for Dance Project students and also will offer a referral program which would allow you to receive $25.00 off of your party in return for each of your referrals. We had a sample camping party several weeks ago, and we’ve been posting photos of the party on the Dance Project Facebook. We offer a dozen different types of parties, or we can create a custom one for you. We also will do showers and parties for adults.
