The Endless Forest Nutcracker

Join us at the Edison Theater in 2017 for The Endless Forest Nutcracker!

The Endless Forest Nutcracker is a heartwarming and creative rendition of the traditional holiday ballet, and is presented by Common Thread Contemporary Ballet in conjunction with Dance Project Saint Louis/SkyStone Conservatory. This year we will have three shows at the Edison Theater at Washington University on December 16th and 17th.

Auditions for this year’s production will be held at SkyStone Conservatory on Sunday, September 17th.

The Endless Forest Nutcracker is based on Tale of Tales’ interactive MMO/screensaver “The Endless Forest,” in which players become deer in a magical forest.  There are no rules, no language, just beauty, peace, and love.  In the spirit of collaborative art that Tale of Tales created in their Forest, we have asked choreographers and dancers from around the country to be part of ours.

The Endless Forest Nutcracker is a unique production that sets the traditional story by E.T.A. Hoffman in a cabin in the mountains. Clara must travel from her auntie’s home to the Endless Forest to find her long-lost sister. In her travels, she will discover the love of family, the magic of the Forest, and the enchantment to be found when the next step on the path becomes the first step in a new world.

Colorful costumes and beautiful music are but a small part of the collaborative art experience you will find at The Endless Forest Nutcracker.
